Linear shafts are steel rods made of C1045 Induction Hardened and Hard Chrome plated.The rods undergo rigorous processes like pilling, straightening, hardening, grinding, polishing, hard chrome plating and finishing under the supervision of experienced engineers. Different from the Hard Chrome Plated Piston Rods, the surface hardness of the Induction Hardened Chrome Rods is high up to HRC58-62 via high-frequency induction harden technique. Linear shafts are usually used as guide rail or slide rail matching with Linearing Bearings because of the surface high durability, abrasion resistance, longer working life and dimensional accuracy.

The load resistance and impact resistance are reduced, therefore the important shaft requirements are: a hard outer and a hard inner. So, what is the difference between a hard axis and a soft axis? Hard axis: Hard axis refers to a linear optical axis whose surface has undergone high-frequency quenching treatment. Its hardness usually reaches around HRC60 and can be used in conjunction with linear bearings. Flexible shaft: A flexible shaft is a linear optical shaft with an unhardened surface. Usually used for transmission. The flexible shaft has not undergone induction hardening. Its hardness is usually HB2 tons of inventory goods and a number of long-term stable cooperative customers.

Such as threading, coaxial holes drilled and tapped, radial holes drilled and tapped, reduced shaft diameter etc, we can machine for you, and these special machines are finished after heat treatment and hard chromic so that ensure the precision of product.
